On December 27, 2021, the Regional Express Train was officially put into service by Senegal.

What is the project's purpose?

The Regional Express Train (TER) is one of the projects of the Emerging Senegal Plan (PSE) initiated by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Macky Sall. The TER, which stretches over 55 km, will link downtown Dakar to the new city of Diamniadio. It should help to ease traffic and relieve congestion in Dakar by reducing travel time. The second phase of the project will connect Diamniadio to the Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD).

What is Bureau Veritas' mission?

Bureau Veritas Senegal has completed the following missions in order to complete this project:

  • Structural and waterproofing control mission;
  • Mission of Control of the Safety of persons in the completed constructions;
  • Mission of Control of Seismic Protection;
  • Mission of Control of Solidity of the Existing;
  • Mission of Solidity Control of the Neighbors;
  • Mission of control relative to the handicapped accessibility;
  • Mission of control of the functioning of the technical installations;
  • Mission of control relative to the sound insulation;
  • Control mission relating to energy performance.
