Jun. 29 2020

Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspection and certification, and Well Hospitality, a consulting and technology company dedicated to tourism development and training in hospitality and tourism, are joining forces to facilitate the restart of the hotel and tourism industry in Morocco. This joint initiative was selected by the United Nations Development Program to support the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism in its desire to relaunch this activity.

Madame Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy of the Kingdom of Morocco declares: "Through an international consultation launched in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Bureau Veritas, as well as its partner Well Hospitality, have been mandated to support the resumption of tourist accommodation activities in the Kingdom of Morocco. This support should lead to the establishment of the WelcomeSafely label, with the firm commitment and the ambition assumed to restore the confidence of travelers in a healthy and successful recovery ”.

"We are very honored to support the Kingdom of Morocco in its desire to restart activities related to the tourism sector. Bureau Veritas' expertise and independence are a guarantee of reliability, in order to meet the company's transparency, hygiene and sanitary requirements, "added Marc ROUSSEL, Senior Vice President Bureau Veritas Africa.

And Jean-Luc TABORIN, Managing Director of Well Hospitality to conclude: "The Well Hospitality teams are proud to participate in the restart of Moroccan tourist accommodation establishments and are very strongly mobilized with the Bureau Veritas teams, in this project with big health and economic challenges for the Kingdom of Morocco "

It is in collaboration with the Moroccan authorities that Bureau Veritas has developed a repository dedicated to health security which will be given to professionals in tourist accommodation companies. An online platform will allow everyone to self-assess their accommodation in accordance with the established repository guidelines and recommendations as well as to train their staff according to their core business and their functions. Around a hundred hotels will be accompanied and audited by Bureau Veritas in their approach to health compliance to enable them to obtain the "WelcomeSafely" label implemented under the authority of the Ministry.
