The Kombat mine delivered its first shipment of copper concentrate to Walvis Bay. Bureau Veritas in Namibia, was then appointed by IXM for several missions.
Who is IXM?
IXM is a global base and precious metals merchant that ranks among the top sellers of copper, zinc, and lead concentrates and is a market leader in refined copper, zinc, aluminum, and nickel.
What is the need for the project?
“The first truck load was delivered from the mine to IXM warehouses in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The truckload contained 31 dry metric tonnes of concentrate, grading 20.41% copper and 265 g/t silver,” read the statement, adding that the truckload is the first of 400 tonnes of concentrate now produced and stockpiled at the Kombat Mine.
What is Bureau Veritas mission?
Bureau Veritas in Namibia perform these missions :
- Debag contents of 1 randomly selected bag per truck (i.e. 10 bags in total);
- Record bag markings and seal number;
- Visual inspection of material to verify entire contents of bag;
- Photo report of each bag inspected showing bag markings, seal number, full contents of bag, close up photograph of material, any anomalies noted.
