Bureau Veritas & RTSA Strengthen Collaboration to Promote Fleet Safety Management Systems in Zambia

Jul. 8 2026

Bureau Veritas Zambia is proud to be working alongside the ROAD TRANSPORT AND SAFETY AGENCY (RTSA) to advance road safety and strengthen fleet management practices across Zambia through the promotion of Fleet Safety Management Systems (FSMS) aligned with ISO 39001:2012.

In June 2026, Bureau Veritas delivered a comprehensive five-day training programme for 30 RTSA officials, equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills needed to evaluate, implement, and promote internationally recognized fleet safety standards. The programme combined classroom learning with hands-on field assessments at transport operators, as well as participation in a live ISO 39001 surveillance audit.

This initiative demonstrates the value of collaboration between regulators, certification bodies, and industry stakeholders in reducing road traffic risks, improving operational performance, and fostering a stronger culture of safety across the transport sector.

Through partnerships such as this, Bureau Veritas continues to play a leading role in advancing road safety across Africa. By helping organizations implement globally recognized standards and best practices, we remain committed to building safer fleets, reducing road traffic risks, and creating a lasting positive impact on communities and economies alike.
