Bureau Veritas supports farming women in Mozambique

Jun. 14 2021

Bureau Veritas in Mozambique supports women farmers.

To launch its social responsibility activities, Bureau Veritas au Mozambique organized a first action in Sofala, a province in the city of Beira, with the help of colleagues who live there. The activity was organized with Grupo de Mulher e Partilha de Ideias - GMPIS (Group of Women and Idea Sharing).

The Group of Women for the Sharing of Ideas (GMPIS) is a network of women who work together to provide solidarity and share ideas. It was founded in May 2014 in the city of Beira, in the province of Sofala, Mozambique. More than 30 organizations, groups, and autonomous activists are now members of the group, which is open to all women interested in building reflections and joint action.

On the occasion of the Mozambican Women's Day, the group offered the women of GMPIS cultivation tools and seeds so that they could recover their crops lost during the cyclones Idai and Eloise.
