On April 20, 2022, Congo Terminal, a subsidiary of Bollore Ports, commissioned two new RTG gantry cranes.

This equipment was delivered in March 2022 and will enable the company to expand its fleet and now have 20 gantry cranes.

Who is Congo Terminal ?

Congo Terminal is a subsidiary of the Bolloré Transport & Logistics Group that was established in 2009 to manage the 27-year concession of the Autonomous Port of Pointe-Noire.


What is the purpose of the project?

“The commissioning of these two new RTG cranes will improve the productivity of our container terminal and support the development of our activities over the coming year. They also contribute to our ambition to make Pointe-Noire a transshipment hub and the main maritime gateway for Central Africa,” the CEO of Congo Terminal Anthony Samzun said.

What is Bureau Veritas's mission?

Bollore was assisted in this project by Bureau Veritas in Congo, which performed validation and audit missions. During an interview, Olivier de Noray, General Manager of Bollore Ports' Ports and Terminals, did not forget to congratulate Bureau Veritas.

“Beyond its operational performance, Congo Terminal is also committed to the Green Terminal labeling process that we created more than a year ago in order to reduce the carbon footprint of our activities. We are accompanied by Bureau Veritas which has validated the methodology and conducts audits every year to label our terminals based on the measures put in place to protect the environment,” said Olivier de Noray, General Manager of Ports and Terminals of Bollore Ports.
