We celebrate Mandela Month in South Africa

Jul. 10 2019

On July 8, 2019, South African teams and volunteers from the Ithemba Trust charity visited Home and Hope, an orphanage for abused young girls.

The day was an opportunity to commemorate Nelson Mandela memory and to highlight the importance of getting involved and helping communities.

Under the sign of sharing and conviviality, the teams gathered around songs and dances in a festive atmosphere.

Bureau Veritas employees offered new school shoes to all the girls in the orphanage. They also spent the afternoon taking care of them by providing manicure care to build their self-confidence and empower them to take charge of themselves. For the youngest of them, the team provided care and attention.

This beautiful day ended with the creation of a painting representing the commitment of Bureau Veritas, Home of Hope, Ithemba Trust and CSM members to the well-being and development of young girls.

In the words of Charne Watson, CSM committee member:
“Today was life changing for me. It has given me a new appreciation for life.”
